Growing Community Kindness

We want a win - win so that everyone benefits!

Jeremy and Clatter Family have been with us since the beginning of our market in 2020. Please support our farmer by purchasing the best in local grown fresh and healthy produce. We also understand the need for people to eat and stay healthy and want to share our abundance.

Each month during our Community Resource Fair we offer farm fresh fruits and vegetables for free to our neighbors in need. This Saturday starting at 2:00 pm !

For those interested in donating, FreeStoreBX will accept clothing and footwear for Winter:

Women’s Clothes, Men’s Clothes, Children’s Clothes, Footwear, Flannel sheets, Comforters, Pots, Pans, Scarves, Hats, Gloves, Deodorant, Shampoo, Conditioner, and Feminine Hygiene products

Anything stained, worn out, and unusable WILL NOT be accepted)

Meg’s Garden Tea Party

Meg’s Garden Tea Party is a weekly community check-in. At around 2 pm, we gather around our picnic table to share tea and treats over meaningful conversation - and, this week, let’s discuss the plants and wild things that you and your family forage and enjoy!

Some Scenes From Last Week

We mellowed to the grooves of Avalanche at Dawn who played their wonderful original music as well as covers of James Taylor, Fats Waller, Lennon & McCartney and others. Danielle led us off with Story Time and will be back by popular demand this week. Robin brought us Yoga and Matt was in charge of demonstrating his method of preparing Eggplant Parmesan.

As always, we need support, we need vendors and participants. If you have any suggestions or want to get more deeply involved in our upcoming programming, please feel free to reach out to us - we are always open to your ideas!

Coming Next Week - We’ll be celebrating Climate Week with a Bronx Summer of Food Forest Tour of our Gardens and Edible Forest and other JBOLC Features to observe, identify and enjoy our precious local and green environment!
